Alveirão winery’s 20-hectare estate is located in near Tomar at the northern most edge of the Tejo region. The area is located in the Godinho valley where the sloping vineyards are comprised mainly of heavy clay with deposits of limestone and schist. Since 1979, the Vieira family has been committed to organic viticulture and low interventionist winemaking in fellowship with the unique microclimate and natural flora and fauna of the region. Working with exclusively native Portuguese varieties, the wines embody the land and the family’s honest approach to natural winemaking techniques.
